Embark is a company that tests a large spectrum of a dog's DNA. They test for over 160 genetic issues, as well as many trait factors such as size, color, bob tails, etc. We hope as time goes on they add more things which are relevant to the Schipperke, such as MPSIIIb. The Schipperke Club of America's Rescue and Health Foundation tested Sarah as part of a group of Schipperkes that were older, behind a Schipperkes owned by multiple breeders, in order that the results might be public and people can see what they test has to offer. Knowing it was their dog's grandmother or great grandmother was to give them a "connection" to the results. As such, I have decided to post it here. If you have questions about any of the results you see here, please feel free to email me and ask for an explanation. Hopefully breeders will be able to use these tests in the future to create a healthier Schipperke and preserve all lines! Embark later asked us if we would test Kyle. I thought he might have been affected with an eye disease as he had been diagnosed as having an infection in the past, but it looks like that was indeed an infection. Kyle came back a 0 carrier.
